I'm 16, and I want to get a tattoo saying “Love” on my left wrist. It means a lot to me because of the tough times I was dealing with depression in the past. Opinions?
Answer: before reading more of the question straight away i was going to state no… just because when your 16 you're to young to make a decision like what to get tattooed on you for life.. usually its just what looks good, and not anything thats symbolic
anyways after reading your description i would definitely get that done, one of my biggessttt pet peeves are meaningless tattoos, and well yours.. you actually took one of the most overdone tattoos and turned it into something great just by what meaning it has, so go for it!
Answer: Considering this is in the UK questions I'm going to assume your in the UK.
It is totally illegal to be tattooed in the UK under the age of 18, anyone who tattoos you is breaking the law and anyone willing to knowingly break the law on age restrictions are equally as likely to break the law on cleanliness or health and safety. Getting a tattoo is not only a big thing due to the fact it will be on you for life but also a big risk you’re putting yourself through, there are a lot of things that can go wrong and infections you can get if the hygiene standards arn't kept high.
So if you can find a tattooist willing to tattoo you underage do not do it, it's only two years until you’re legal so just wait.
Answer: I'm 16 and I’ve 2 tattoos and am getting a third shortly. I don't see the problem with getting it done at that age, probably more reckless to get it done when you are 21 and drunk. And if it has meaning to you (both of mine have deep meaning to me) and you think it won't change (which I think yours won't), then go for it.
My tattoos are a ladybug with a yin yang (for good fortune, which I also got due to depression problems, and inner peace) and the names of my late aunt and uncle.
So, if it has meaning, go for it, I think. And it doesn't matter what other people think, you get tattoos for you, no one else.
Good luck!
Answer: Here is my honest view, wait until you're at least 18. You may think it has such a deep meaning now, but wait it out and see. I'm all for tattoos, but think it out long and hard, REMEMBER, it will be on there your whole life. Now, you might want to think of a different location because some jobs shy away from hiring people with tattoos, and you might have to wear a big band-aid or a wristband to cover it, and if you want to be a mom when you get older, you might look kind of trashy with it on your wrist. Hope this helps your decision.
Answer: Yeah, we all go through depression when we're teenagers.
I'm not being sarcastic, although I can say that most teenagers (me included, a couple years ago) definitely overdid it. Depression is a very serious thing, and teenagers are vulnerable cuz lets face it, we all feel like **** at that age. I mean we do have great times that we went through, but we're always bombarded with self esteem issues and all that crap.
I'm saying that what you may have thought you had was depression, but maybe it wasn't. then again, i could be wrong.
Anyway, the tattoo. I got a tattoo when I was 17 and I regret it. It states “love is gonna save us” and its on my chest. like, close to my neck, slightly on the left. At the time i thought it was classy and it was an awesome idea, but now i regret it.
I know that you might be completely convinced that its a good idea to get it done, but you're quite young. what you think now might absolutely change two, tree, five, ten years from now.
If the love you felt or got from others is really important to you, keep it treasured in your mind and memories, like it should be. and if you feel the same way in a couple years, then get it done.
i want to save you from painful laser removals.
just think about it, ok?

Answer: Dude, don't do it. For one, good luck getting a job worth having. It's either that or your stuck wearing a watch or bracelet EVERY SINGLE DAY. Might not seem like a massive deal, but it will be. If you're going to get a tattoo, get it in a less obvious place, I beg you. I have three and they're all on my back because I am going to have a real job one day and want to be taken seriously.
I'm not that much older than you. And I swear that the tattoos I wanted at 16 are not what I want now, not what I have. I laughed at myself, thinking about what I did want. PLEASE don't do it. Especially not in such an obvious place.
Answer: Never do anything permanent when you're 16. As far as tattoos go, and I have several, I'd wait until you're at least 20 before making that decision. Also, if you do get one, think about putting it somewhere that can be covered during a job interview. I’ve 5 tattoos and you'd never know it as mine are only visible if I'm wearing shorts and a tank-top.
Answer: No
Id wait till you’re about 19-20.
A lot can change from year to year in your teens, and you might regret it.
If you grow more it might distort and look bad too.
Id hold off.Once you get a bit older you may even have a superior idea for a tattoo.
Not to say that “love” wouldnt be a good tattoo, but maybe something more elaborate to remind you of your teens and what youve accomplished through them.
Answer: I would wait abit. I'm 19 and i love tattoos and piercing but i'm still waiting to get the right tattoo i don't want to rush it. Personally I don't think iIll ever get one on my wrist, just for the simple reason I'll get sick of looking at the same thing. Hold back abit and you might be glad you did
Answer: As a general rule, 16 year olds should try to avoid permanent fashion statements. Tattoos are popular now, but at your age, you might as well surgically implant permanent bell bottoms. And trust me - in 20 years you’ll look back on your 16 year old self as a absolutely different person. You won't be yourself until you are are at least 25 years old.
Answer: I have over 20 tattoos all over my body and i started when i was 15. My biggest mistake was having any thing done within my price range just to get a tattoo and im paying for that now.
There is no reason why you shouldn't get one, but have a good consider it as its for life.
If the one you want is out of your price range, save up! You'll appreciate it later in life.

Answer: The wrist is a bad location. Everybody will see it. People with tattoos have a harder time finding and keeping jobs for superficial reasons. If it means a lot to you go ahead, its your body. Just be smart about it.
Answer: I got my first tattoo when I was 14, Think about the tattoo for a couple weeks, if you canget parental consent your good
Answer: Don't get a tattoo that is emotionally linked to a broken heart.
Answer: Yeh go for it don't look back it never stopped me
Answer: **** yeah, love on one wrist, hate on the other
