I'm probably more of an NC15-20 in mac foundations, but I usually opt for a NC25 - so not a huge difference but I do go up a shade or sometimes two. I always blend my foundation really well, and I check my jawline for any signs of the dreaded foundation line - which I never get. I've asked friends/family if my foundation ever looks too dark and they always state no. BUT it's constantly dinned into me that if you go one foundation too high you'll become an oompa-loompa overnight.
So what do you think? Do you ever purchase a couple of shades up/down in foundation?
Answer: Well, in certain cases, I use both my own skin tone and a darker. As weird as it sounds, you can use both. You can use your usual tone and then use the darker shade and contour (forehead, cheekbones, jawline, nose, etc.). Just don't use a completely darker shade on your entire face, especially if you don't blend on your neck, hahaa(:
Answer: Buying a shade lighter/darker can have different effects depending on the skin. One of my friends tested mac liquid foundation a shade darker than her usual, and after the second more thorough application, she looked orange. But my other friends seem to have no problems at all.
Also some shades actually highlight your pores while other do not, but I'm not exactly sure as to why.
Answer: No.
I hate when people do this.
You can always see the line from their foundation
to their regular color, like face is foundation color.
Neck is natural color.
It annoys me so bad.
You are only suppose to have 2 shades darker/lighter
then your original skin color,
that's what I've heard.
But don't make it noticeable.
Answer: Yup!! My foundation is like a half shade darker than my skin tone. It's okay though because your face will always be about a shade lighter than the skin tone of the rest of your body. As long as your face and neck look the same color you're good.
Answer: If that method works for you go on, do your thing. Just don't go like 5 shades over, then you’ll be in oompa loompa territory. But don't worry about it, if it;s not noticeable then no worries.
Answer: thats happen to me before to (oh and i use mac too) people always stated i looked tanner but not nessaceraly bad …. but once i got my right shade i got compliments on how nice my make up looked !!!
hope that helps
May God Bless You !!
Answer: of course its ok
Answer: Well yes and no. Deff. Not too dark! Cuz then your face won't match your neck and people notice that. But I recently bought this Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse in the second lowest shade and it was too dark and I couldn't blend it enoughh for it to look okay so I exchanged it for the lightest shade and it matches my skin tone perfectly….but the perfectly pale match seems to highlight my paleness and make me look kinda washed out…so if I were you, try to find a perfect match shade and then apply bronzer all over and then go back and contour or whattever you do. Or if you want to use up the rest of this foundation then pour some of your moisturizer into the foundation bottle and shake well! Shake well before each use. See how that suits you. Good luck!
