Im hearing good things about coffee before workouts, so i thought since it dehydrates you maybe taking creatine will keep you hydrated? Im hearing all kinds off stuff about coffee being beneficial. any info on that > ? thanks guys. love this site..

Answer:
Caffeine is up to you — But I would say lose it. As the other response mentioned it generally gives an unpleasant energy and loss of focus. I wouldn't think it very beneficial.

Caffeine does dehydrate you, but not by a mechanism that creatine would stop. Creatine volumizes cells responsible for supplying muscle groups energy.. it creates larger stores of Adenine Tri Phosphate along with increase osmosis of water. This allows for more stamina during training, or activity.. but it is most beneficial for body building/weight lifting to give you that extra few reps to further break down the muscle tissue and thus the muscle will grow stronger than it otherwise would have. Not because of the creatine, but because it granted you to lift the weight more than you would have without it.

That stated,.. I really wouldn't recommend or bother with either of these things for wrestling practice. If you workout a lot in the gym.. The creatine wouldn't injured — but the caffeine is a waste of time and potential detracting chemical.

Answer:
I had coffee before a match a couple times. I wouldn't advocate it. I was all hyped up and not very focused, I lost. Caffeine pills are the same. They don't give you extra energy, they just make you wanna use it up quicker. Good luck!

Answer:
Creatine actually causes dehydration because it retains water and stores it in the muscles.
