Stretch always before and after exercising to prevent any injuries.
this chick went to keene!! lol
@dragonystic By definition,an injury can come from any number of things, so yeah it does not prevent injuries.
What stretching does, however is reduce injuries coming from over extension and muscle tares.
thanx alot, that really helped me as my knee and leg were weak after fracture. hopefully this excercises will help me to regain the old strength
@dragonystic hah it makes me laugh when people get information from wikipedia. Anyone can make a post on wikipedia about anything so i could make one having no knowledge on the subject and yet people would believe it. You would pull a muscle or get a tare if falling in a awkward position e.g. the splits which you couldn’t normally do. But the idea is if you can normally put this strain on your muscles and perform a wider range of movements (Flexibility) therefore less likely to over stretch
@0n3andOnly its crucial in every sport because it increases flexibility and helps performance. i never said it didnt do those things. it just doesnt prevent injuries.
and no, it hasn’t been scientifically proven. read the entire wiki page on stretching (its not long.) the studies done on stretching, as they relate to injuries, don’t show any clear and consistent results. some studies say it helps, some say it doesnt. and some even say within certain sports, stretching can hurt you.
